Established in 2022 by PHAR intern alumna Asia Green the purpose of the PHAR Youth Program is to give our youth, living in lower-income homes the resources to empower themselves, their families and communities. Creating opportunities for youth to have a strong voice within their communities while helping them find their own unique positive paths to become healthy, well-rounded adults.
Concept: To bring diverse organizations into the public housing communities and connect youth who may have certain barriers preventing them from joining activities through the schools or other avenues.
Goal: To create and manage healthy, positive outlets for our youth, while keeping a strong partnership with local organizations within our community. We focus on all public housing youth up to age 18, providing them with education and leadership development opportunities for them to positively impact young people’s quality of life.
